1907 August 23rd Salisbury – Accident on the Railway

Whilst working with a gang of men on the Great Western Railway near Skew Bridge early yesterday (Thursday) morning, William Dennis, of Bemerton, met with a serious accident. He was walking by the side of the rails when a heavy girder slid over and fractured his right leg. The staff rendered first aid, and the unfortunate man was taken to the Infirmary where he was attended to, and is progressing favourably. Dennis had only started work on the line that morning.
