1909 September 24th   Salisbury – The Cow and the Window

Following on the several cases of window breakings by animals from the Market recently, a cow who was apparently anxious to investigate the contents of Mr Lapham’s china shop in Fisherton Street on Tuesday, succeeded in smashing a big sheet of plate glass. It is curious that only a week or two ago Mr Lapham had one of the windows of his furnishing department demolished by a cart being backed into it. The Magnet Stores are naturally attractive, but we understand the proprietor would prefer callers to use the door rather than the window.
