1905 February 7th           Serious Accident to a Young Man

Frank Smith, a young man employed as a gardener by Mr Carpenter, of Stratford, and whose father lives at Britford, was admitted to the Salisbury Infirmary on Tuesday evening, suffering from a fracture at the base of the skull, the result of a cycle accident. He was cycling down the Fowlers Road and when taking the sharp turn into Fowlers Hill, leading into the Southampton Road, he lost control of the machine and crashed into the wall on the opposite side of the road. He was conveyed to the Infirmary in an unconscious condition where up to last (Thursday) night, when we learn he was a little better, he was in a critical condition.
