1901 August 23rd     Warminster – Conies and Theft

At the Police Court on Friday before Mr W F Morgan and Mr G N Temple, James Green, an elderly man of no fixed abode, was brought up on remand charged with trespassing in search of conies on land in the occupation and possession of the Hon. Percy Wyndham, at Wylye copse, on the 13th inst., and also with stealing a sack, valued at 9d, the property of Lord Heytesbury on the previous day. Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was committed to prison for six weeks – a month for the theft of the sack, and a fortnight for the game trespass.
