Vizard, William       1887 June 18th        Chippenham

An inquest was held at the workhouse by Mr Coroner Baker on the body of William Vizard, of Underdown, Bremhill.

It appeared from the evidence that the deceased, who was 69 years of age, was on the morning of the 9th inst in charge of a horse and cart belonging to Mr Jefferies, farmer, of Tytherton, when the animal was frightened and the deceased in trying to stop it was knocked down, the wheel of the cart passing over him. It was stated that the horse was a quiet one.

The jury returned a verdict of “Accidental death.”
