Hart, Edward

Hart, Edward        1884 September 6th         Sturminster Marshall

On Tuesday, a man named Edward Hart, aged 54, died at Sturminster Marshall, near Blandford, from injuries received in a singular manner.

He was assisting in the ringing of a wedding peal at Winterborne, when he got his neck entangled in the rope and was suddenly jerked to a height of nearly twenty feet, striking his head against a beam, and afterwards falling heavily to the floor of the belfry.

Medical aid was obtained, but the unfortunate sufferer succumbed to his terrible injuries. The Coroner did not deem an inquest necessary.

I got through to the last line before I spotted it was not an inquest!
