Aymer, John 1883 May 19th Amesbury
On Saturday, an inquest was held at the Workhouse, before Dr Sylvester, on the body of an old man named John Aymer. From the evidence it appeared that on the previous Wednesday he was working for Mr J C Sargent, of Red House Farm, and was seen returning to his work about one o’clock. Shortly afterwards a witness named Drew, on entering the granary, found deceased lying on the floor apparently dying. Assistance was hastily procured and a medical man summoned, but before his arrival the old man had breathed his last. The doctor having certified the cause of death to be apoplexy, the jury returned a verdict accordingly.
