Towzer, infant                  1882 November 4th                 Swindon

On Wednesday morning Mr Coroner Baker held an adjourned inquest at the Mechanic’s Arms, into the cause of the death of the infant child of Elizabeth Towzer, aged six weeks, married woman, living in lodgings. The jury returned a verdict of natural causes but desired the coroner to reprimand the mother for not calling in a doctor immediately on finding the child ill, which she did.
