Elmes, William                1882 November 4th             Chippenham

An inquest was held at the New Inn on Tuesday by Mr Baker, on the body of a little boy named William Francis Elmes, son of George Elmes, labourer. It transpired that the child had been a cripple from its birth, and, as a consequence, was very delicate. On Friday night it seemed as well as usual, but the next morning the father found it dead in bed. The jury returned a verdict that the deceased died from general debility.

FreeBMD gives age as 3 – ED.
