Bell, Thomas 1880 April 10th
An inquest was held at the Council Chamber on Thursday, on the body of Thomas Bell, who came by his death under circumstances in the evidence adduced.
The deceased was an inmate of Stay’s lodging house, and on Wednesday night repaired to bed in his usual state of health. On the following morning, suspicion having been excited by his non-appearance, he was found lying in the room on his face – dead. It is supposed that he and a fit, and, falling on his face, was suffocated. A verdict of “Death from natural causes” was returned.
