Truckle, Ann

Truckle, Ann         1869 May 1st         Amesbury

An inquest was held by Mr R M Wilson, on Saturday last, on the body of Ann Truckle, aged 58 years, the wife of James Truckle, of this place, groom.

It appeared from the evidence that deceased had complained at times of pains in the head. On Thursday evening she went to bed about half past nine, and made no complaint of illness then or during the night. Her husband awoke about half past four on Friday morning, and spoke to her, but getting no answer, he touched her and found she was dead.

Mr Batho, surgeon, who was sent for, said he had attended her for several years, but not lately; she was never a very healthy person. He attributed her death to an obstruction of the circulation of the brain by fibrous deposit, which would cause instant death. A verdict was returned accordingly.
