Trowbridge, Sidney

Trowbridge, Sidney        1868 May 16th        Fisherton

An inquest was held by Mr G Nodder (Deputy Coroner, for Mr Wilson), on Wednesday, at the Council Chamber, on the body of child named Sidney Trowbridge, aged 2 years, the illegitimate child of Keziah, wife of Thomas Williams, shoemaker, of Fisherton.

The child died on Tuesday morning, and was in an extremely emaciated condition, but it appeared from the evidence that he had been properly cared for, although no medical aid had been obtained. The inquest was adjourned until Thursday, and Mr Williams, surgeon, was directed to make a post mortem examination of the body, when he found that the child had suffered from congestion of the brain and tubercular disease of the lungs, quite sufficient to account for death. Verdict accordingly.
