Rattue, Fanny

Rattue, Fanny              1868 December 19th              West Harnham

An inquest was held by Mr Wilson, on Saturday, on the body of Fanny Rattue, wife of George Rattue, labourer. It appeared that the deceased, who was 80 years of age, got out of bed about three o’clock in the morning, and was endeavouring to find some matches to procure a light, when she fell down stairs and never spoke afterwards. Dr Darke attributed her death to concussion of the brain, which in so old a person would probably cause instant death. Verdict – Accidental Death.
